Please find below the terms and conditions for orders placed through my website. When you place your order, you are doing so in acceptance of these terms and conditions. It is essential that you have read them before ordering.
If you have any questions regarding these terms, you're welcome to send me an email, or use the contact page.
Fulfilment of an order.
When an order is placed you will receive an order confirmation sent to the email address you provided during checkout.
A contract will only exist between us once your order has been processed and dispatched (fulfilment).
When you place an order via this website, you confirm that:
- You are not a minor or otherwise legally incapable of entering into a binding contract.
- The personal details which you give are fully complete and accurate.
- You are not using a false name or the name of any other person or body which you are not authorised to use.
I reserve the right to cancel to any order placed before fulfilment.
I am not obligated to fulfil erroneous orders, or absorb erroneous shipping costs. Errors may include (but are not limited to) pricing errors, inventory availability errors or faults being found with items.
In the event of this happening, every effort will be made to find a satisfactory resolution, either in the form of a similar alternative item, refund, or any other solution which can be agreed upon.
Naturally, you will be informed of any cancellations or refunds immediately, and substitutions will not be made to orders without prior discussion.
Cancelling an order.
You are free to cancel an order before fulfilment and will be refunded in full to the payment method used to place your order.
International Orders.
I am not currently offering international delivery. Delivery is to UK mainland addresses only.
Postage and Delivery.
I endeavour to dispatch orders within 48 hours of receiving cleared payment, not including weekends or bank holidays. If you need an item for the next day, or have any particular delivery requirements, contact me prior to placing an order and I can advise whether it will be possible to accommodate.
Once an order has been dispatched, I cannot be held responsible for any service delays from the courier used. I post items with tracking, delivery confirmation and full insurance up the order value.
Items damaged or missing on delivery.
In the unlikely event that an item arrives to you damaged in transit or a parcel is missing contents, you must inform me within 7 days of the parcel arriving at the delivery address specified on the order. I cannot offer to refund, repair or replace any items missing or damaged in transit which have been reported to me after 7 days of receipt at the delivery address.
I strongly recommend that you, or any third parties responsible for the acceptance or care of the package, check the contents as soon as possible.
I reserve the right to refuse a refund for any items returned misused, damaged, incomplete, or otherwise returned in a different condition to the original sale.
Returns Policy.
I provide a 28-day guarantee period for you to confirm that all items meet your expectations and are in the condition advertised. Returns will not be accepted outside of this 28-day window.
Returning Used Equipment.
If you wish to return an item, please let me know as soon as possible via email so that we can begin the refund, repair or replacement procedure.
Any and all accessories, original packaging or literature included which relate directly to the item(s) being returned, must also be returned.
Items must be returned within a timely manner. Items are to be returned within 7 days of agreeing a return. Once the guarantee period ends I reserve the right to refuse a return, even if previously agreed.
Ensure your details are enclosed in the returned package to avoid any delay when processing the return.
Return Postage.
I will provide an option for the return of items which are being returned under the terms of the guarantee, have been incorrectly supplied or any other approved reason for return, for which I will cover the cost.
If you wish to use a third-party courier or any alternative method of return, I cannot offer to cover the cost of this. If you choose to use any third-party postage methods which I have not supplied, arranged or otherwise offered to cover the cost of, items must be sent with full insurance for damage or loss. I am not responsible for resolving any delay, loss or damage claims through these third parties.
I cannot refund postage for any returns made from outside of the UK. If you are returning an item from outside the UK, you must explicitly mark any goods sent back to me from outside the UK as a return on customs forms. In the event I become liable to pay any customs duty, import fees or charges for any reason, the parcel will either a) be returned to sender or b) the total amount of any duty, charges or fees imposed on me will be deducted from your refund.
Partial Refunds / Store Credit.
I do not offer partial refunds, discounts on future purchases or store credit in lieu of a full refund. If you are not happy with goods received you must either return the goods, in keeping with the terms outlined here, or accept them for the price paid.
Guarantee.
Your preference of the guarantee resolution will be prioritised, however if I am unable to reasonably replace or repair items, a refund will be the resolution.
What the guarantee does cover:
The guarantee covers any mechanical, optical or electronic faults discovered that are not mentioned in the description of the advertisement. This includes, but is not limited to; inaccurate shutter speeds, light leaks, film advance issues, focusing problems, optical fungus, aperture problems, issues with dials displays and switches.
What the guarantee does not cover:
Selenium-cell light meters. These types of meter are usually only found on older equipment, and due to age have often decayed to inaccurate or inoperative levels. Unless otherwise stated, all other light meters (battery powered, hand-held, external or built-in) are guaranteed be working and accurate to within +/- 1 stop.
Oil on the aperture blades of pre-set diaphragm lenses. This is something that one may expect to be present in small quantities, does not affect use, and is not covered under the guarantee. Oil on the aperture blades of fast-moving automatic diaphragm lenses is not to be expected and certainly would be covered under the guarantee.
Subjective aspects or personal preferences. For example, the focus damping on a lens. One individual may prefer a lighter feel, and another might prefer a firmer feel. The focus damping can also vary between copies of the same used lens. I am unable to offer a repair, adjustment or exchange under the guarantee due to a subjective aspect of an item. I would be pleased to advise you on any subjective aspects of a prospective purchase to help you make an informed decision.
Damage and improper use. It is important to note that some items have their quirks and particular processes which must be followed and can be damaged due to improper use. For example, changing the shutter speed on many Soviet-era camera bodies before advancing the film will damage the mechanism.
Certain collectible, unusual or historical items may be more suitable for collectible or ornamental use. Such items will not come with a guarantee and may have faults which impede their use. If this is the case, it will be made very clear in the advertisement.
Timeframe.
Unless otherwise stated in the advertisement, all items come with 28-days guarantee against faults.
The 28-days begins from the date of receipt by you at the delivery address specified on the order. This will be defined by the date of delivery on the tracking. If an order is delivered without tracking confirmation, the date of receipt will commence from the estimated date of delivery.
Transferability and resale.
The guarantee is not transferable - the sale, rental, loan, consignment or any other transfer of ownership of an item to a third party will terminate any remaining guarantee period.
The guarantee term for individuals or businesses reselling camera equipment - whether the intention is for personal use or not - is the standard Distance Selling Regulations of a 14 day approval period, and nothing more.
Specifications, compatibility, and item specifics.
There is an extraordinary depth and breadth of knowledge to photographic equipment – and although I am a professional, it is not possible for me to have absolute and specific knowledge of every item, manufacturer and system. I will be happy to offer advice on specifications, compatibility and specifics of an item, however I cannot be liable for any inconvenience or damages that result from information provided to be incorrect.
By placing an order, you confirm that you have undertaken the necessary research to ensure any items you purchase are suitable for your requirements and you will use the items according to the recommended instructions. I cannot be liable for any inconvenience or damages resulting in improper use of an item. If you are unsure, please ask me and I will be pleased to advise you. I welcome any questions no matter how large or small and will answer them to the best of my ability
VAT.
I am not a VAT registered entity. No VAT is charged or is reclaimable on items. This applies domestically or internationally.
Liability.
I shall not be liable in any way for acts, failures, omissions or delays resulting in issues including (but not limited to) loss of sales, business, profits, reputation, business interruption or any other losses.
I shall not be liable to give any compensation apart from refunding you the amount you paid for any goods being returned.
Your rights are protected by the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act, 1980, and also the Consumer Protection Act, 2007, where you are a consumer. Nothing in this website shall affect your rights under the applicable law.
I reserve the right to change these terms and conditions in the future without specifically notifying customers and continued use of the website or placing of orders after such changes shall be deemed to be acknowledgement and acceptance thereof. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but I've noticed several other camera retailers using my terms and conditions word-for-word. Please don’t do this. Thanks.
Severance.
If any of these terms and conditions shall prove to be void, unlawful, or unenforceable for any reason then such term or condition shall be deemed to be severed from the remaining terms and conditions which shall remain valid and enforceable.
