Leica II Black w/ 5cm f/3.5 Elmar Nickel in Case [58977]

Condition

Mechanical: Shutter speeds are accurate with no capping. Curtains are light-tight, the take-up spool is present and the wind is smooth.

Optical: Lens is acceptable for the age, with some minor cleaning marks and haziness, but generally in good clean condition. The rangefinder is aligned but not particularly bright. RF and VF windows clean and clear.

Cosmetic: Well-used, but again in acceptable condition for the age. There is paint loss all over, especially on the corners and edges, and the body does have a few minor dings. The bottom plate is in reasonable condition with a few light marks and the vulcanite is all intact.

Additional Information

Nickel fittings. Comes with the original leather case.

Production Year

The serial number comes back as a Leica I c.1930. Most likely upgraded in period to a Leica II.

Serial Numbers

Body: 58977. The lens is un-numbered which is consistent with the camera originally being a Leica I and suggests it is the original lens.
